An overseas company registering a UK establishment must name a person authorised to accept service of documents. Commercial contracts governed by English law commonly require a process agent so that proceedings can be served in the UK without international service. Certain regulators — the Information Commissioner for UK GDPR representatives, product safety authorities for a UK responsible person — impose similar requirements.

We act as process agent or UK establishment contact, receive documents at 86–90 Paul Street, log and scan them to you the same working day, and confirm receipt to the sender where the rules require it. We do not advise on the documents; we make sure you have them in time to act.

Common questions

What is a process agent?
A person or company in the UK appointed to accept service of legal proceedings on behalf of a party outside the UK, so that documents can be served here validly.
Is this the same as a registered office?
No. A registered office is for a UK company. An agent for service is for an overseas company or a specific contract. We provide both.
Do you act as UK GDPR representative?
We can receive correspondence as your UK representative address; the substantive data-protection role should be agreed with your privacy adviser.
What happens when something is served?
It is scanned to you the same working day with the date and time of receipt, which is what the limitation clock runs from.
