HMRC registrations for a new UK company
Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE, EORI, CIS: each is a separate HMRC registration with its own reference, its own timetable and its own online account. We do them in the right order and hold the agent authorisations so you never have to log in to HMRC from abroad.
Companies House tells HMRC when a company is formed, and HMRC issues a Unique Taxpayer Reference by post to the registered office. Within three months of starting to trade the company must tell HMRC it is active. VAT, PAYE and EORI are separate applications with separate evidence requirements, and each issues its own reference number two to four weeks later. Overseas directors find HMRC’s online identity checks the hardest part; as your agent we handle the applications and correspondence under our own credentials.
We set up the company’s Government Gateway account, register for each tax the business actually needs — not every company needs VAT or PAYE on day one — and record every reference in your handover pack.
